Help DACA recipients Renew
Donation protected
My name is Jesus Ruiz and I'm a community organizer for nonprofit and also a coordinator for the Rapid Response Network in Santa Clara County. Working on the ground in my community has exposed me to a lot of stories of DACA recipients not renewing their DACA due to the high cost of 495$. With the average rent in Santa Clara County for a one room apartment being over 2,000$ a month some DACA recipients find it difficult to come up with an extra 495$ for their DACA renewal. Letting DACA expire puts DACA recipients at high risk of deportation since they no longer have protection and the government now has their information. No one should fear deportation only because they can't afford the cost for some peace of mind. Which is why I'm starting this GoFundMe Campaign. Constantly I come across people that have daca and are worried about not coming up in time with the money to renew it. The money raised will be used directly to help people renew their DACA. This is very important to me because I too am a DACA recipient and at one point in the past I too worried about the cost. Thankfully I'm in a better situation now don't have to worry about it anymore but there's still so many that do. I underrated that we can't help everyone that needs the help because there are thousands but I would like to start with at least two that I'm working with and who already have their DACA expired so this is very urgent. All extra money raised will be used for others. With the supreme court most likely voting in June to terminate DACA we need those that have expired DACA or nearing their expiration date to renew ASAP. For their protection I will not share any information about them but will do so once their applications are approved. Thank you in advance.
