Help Daizee Torres and Her Family Rebuild After Tragedy
Donation protected
Dear friends, community, and compassionate supporters,
I’m reaching out to share the challenging journey of our friend and community member Daizee Torres, a disabled mother of three who has faced tremendous hardships this year. Following the sudden loss of her brother in January, Daizee has been grappling with grief and significant health issues, including permanent lung damage from COVID-19 and a blood clotting disorder, which has led to severe flare-ups of her other chronic conditions.
On Labor Day, while driving alone on Highway 50 of Colorado, Daizee experienced every mountain dweller’s worst fear when a boulder fell from the mountain and totaled her car. Thankfully, she survived, but now she is dealing with whiplash, heightened anxiety, and a flare up in other medical pathology which further impact her ability to care for her family. The insurance is covering the remaining loan on her car with only a few hundred dollars left over, leaving Daizee and her children without reliable transportation in a remote area of Colorado where public transport simply doesn’t exist. All this while managing a divorce.
Why They Need Your Help
Daizee is a cherished member of her community, actively involved in the High Country Recycling Board and volunteering at local events. She has worked tirelessly to ensure community members in need have access to vital resources. Now, Daizee and her children urgently need our help to secure a new vehicle and find a safe place to call home.
Fund Allocation Breakdown
Our goal is to raise $7,000 to support Daizee and her children during this challenging time. Here’s how your generous contributions will be utilized:
- Reliable Used Vehicle: $8,000 - achieved
- Relocation Expenses: $6,000 This will cover moving costs, including first month’s rent, security deposit, and utility setup, as Daizee must find a new home due to her ongoing divorce.
- Health & Emergency Fund: $1,000 A buffer for unexpected expenses that may arise during this transition, ensuring Daizee can manage medical costs, therapy, and other essential needs.
Total Goal: $7,000
Every one of these challenges on its own would be difficult to manage, but together they have become overwhelming for Daizee and her family. The weight of grief, health issues, and the urgent need for a stable home and reliable transportation is simply too much to bear alone. With our support, we can lighten this burden and help her find hope and stability in this incredibly tough time. Every little bit helps. No amount is too small, and every donation will make a significant difference in Daizee’s family’s life. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in their lives.
Thank you for your kindness, support, and generosity. Please share this campaign to help spread the word!
