Help Dan and Desiree get a Gator

Donation protected

Hi, my name is John Reilly and I'm fundraising for Danny and Desiree Phillips. Here's a little bit of their story...

Danny and Desiree met while they were in High School. Like many teenagers in the 80s, they headed to the arcade for their first date. These were the days of Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Frogger. Turns out, that first arcade date was the moment Danny and Desiree decided to 'press play' to continue their own, life-long adventure, together.

Within ten years they had married, had two kids, and purchased Desiree’s dream home. Well, not quite. The home needed some work. But with Danny's renovation skills and Desiree's eye for design, they elevated that house into a dreamy oasis. Life was wonderful. Cozy. Comfy. And the home was a perfect place to grow old together.

But, like all great adventures, there came a surprising twist.

They were both hearing God’s voice asking them to follow him; to partner with Him in something he is rebuilding.

Chester Heights Camp Meeting was built just after the Civil War. People who had been torn by the reality of war came to Camp Meeting and found new hope and revival. It was a place where sacred moments of healing happened.

After 150 years, the Camp has seen better days. Longing for a rebirth, Camp Meeting began searching for a family to live on-site, year-round, providing security, maintenance and upkeep for the 11 acres. Danny and Desiree received the phone call.

But in order to do this, Danny and Desiree would need to sell their dream home. Could they envision trading the luxuries of modern living for a more rustic and challenging life? Believing in God’s goodness and trusting his voice, they sold their home in 2020 and moved to Camp Meeting.

Currently, various churches and youth groups and other gatherings congregate on the grounds. There are continuing improvements to the grounds, while sacred moments happen again - thanks to Dan and Des's hard work.

But, life at Camp Meeting presents unique challenges and it seems they’re learning something new every day. For one thing, they have learned about their need for a utility vehicle. A ‘Gator’ or similar. A vehicle that would allow them to plow, haul, dump, transport, and drive over rocky terrain.

I'm hoping that together we can raise the funds to gift them a Utility Vehicle.
Would you like to contribute so that Dan and Desiree would get a utility vehicle (plus a plow and winch kit)?

Let’s show them how much we love them and believe in what God is doing through them.

I met Dan and Desiree years ago through our home church. I’m very inspired by how they live out their faith and I know you are also inspired. This GoFundMe represents a practical way we can come alongside them, allowing their burden to be ours -even if in just small way.

Here’s how the funds will be used:

A Kawasaki 'Mule' is about 10K.
The Winch and Plow assembly is another $2500.

Above is the home they sold in 2020 to live at Camp Meeting.

And this is their home at Camp Meeting.
