Help Dan and Laura raise money for treatment

Two and a half months ago, my wonderful brother Daniel started having headaches and feeling a bit strange. At the time we thought it was sinusitis and maybe a bit of stress but after walking in to A&E on Thursday 2nd September 2021 he left five days later with a terminal diagnosis - a Glioblastoma brain tumour and a life expectancy of 6-8 months. A bomb went off in our world and it is still going off every day. Over the last two months he has undergone brain surgery, three weeks of double dose radiotherapy and is waiting on confirmation that chemotherapy is set to begin soon.

 

The NHS have been amazing and are doing all they can but we are looking at alternative treatements and therapies that will help with symptoms, make life easier and crucially get Daniel extra time with Laura, Francis and the rest of his very loving family. Treatments like immunotherapy are new, untested and expensive and are only available to people that have the funds. But it may be the only way for Dan to see Francis on his first birthday....something he told us he so wanted before the undergoing surgery. Since the surgery Dan and Laura  have needed some extra help day to day so any money raised will help with caring for Dan and hopefully making the little time he has left as happy and comfortable as possible.

 

Dan is such a kind human and if you don't know him, I am sure you would love him. He has spent the last 10 years of his life working in family law - keeping families together and protecting children who are vulnerable. It hasn't been an easy job, especially since becoming an uncle and a father, but he was doing good in the world and making peoples live better.

 

All the money raised will be used to care and help Dan but if any is left over it will be split between a university trust for Francis and a charitable donation to a brain cancer charity.
