Help Dan Shenck Overcome Medical Expenses

Hello,

My Name is Dan Shenck. I hate to do this, but as I look for options to try and push through the financial portion of the recovery process, I'm reaching out to Friends, Family, and the Public for Help. Starting in October of Last year I went in to get a Hernia Repair done on my Abdomen. Things went well but in December I started having a lot of Chest discomfort, so I went in to get it checked out. After extensive testing and getting put through everything they could think of they discovered a few things. I have Sleep Apnea, I go into A fib, None of these are big deals to me, but after wearing a Heart Monitor for 30 days they decided I should consider a Loop Recorder implant. Okay! I went back to work only to discover that I was still having a lot of Stomach Pain. Back for more CT Scans to find out the the original Hernia repair did not heal correctly and I now had a Bowel Loop and another Tear in My Gut the needed to be re- repaired. So Back in for another Surgery in May. While off work and healing from the Re-repair, 2 and 1/2 weeks in, I felt like I was having a Heart Attack! I ended up in the ER here it Topeka, They discovered I had a Gull stone blocking My bile duct so they sent me To KU Med for a Procedure Via a 1 hour Ambulance Ride. They wanted to remove My Gull Bladder at that time but would not, due to the other surgery being to new, and not healed enough. I feel Great! But I was off work 2 months from the surgery in October. I was also off again 2 months from the Surgery in May. I had an Emergency Fund that I could Survive 3 or 4 months if needed. That is now gone.

I do have Insurance and it definitely helps. They have been Billed $310,000 since October but I have My Portion to Pay. I've been making Payments and sent in Paperwork to try and get some written off. I was denied and they keep increasing my Payments.

The Amount I am trying to raise is 1/2 of what I still owe after insurance so far. I don't feel like It's not my responsibility to pay, it just all happened so fast and, all at once. That being said, it has put me in a financial bind. I'm just trying to buy some time until I can figure out how to bring in some more dollars.

If you can't Help Financially it's okay, Please just keep me in your Prayers. God is Good, and I know it will all work out.

I'll Get my Gull Bladder out in a couple Months unless I have another attack in which time they will take it out then. If that happens, it will cause some more time off work.
