Help Dana Save Ellies's Life

Hi My name is Valerie and I am trying to help my very special niece Dana Galgano raise the funds needed to help save her beautiful little Ellie . Ellie is her dog that she rescued from Yorkie911 rescue in September 2021. She met Ellie when she arrived at Yorkie911 to see another dog but was instantly drawn to Ellies sweet personality and big, brown eyes . It was love at first sight for them both and Dana was not leaving without her. Ellie hadn’t even been vetted yet but Dana decided to foster her and take her to be vetted by her own vet. The very sad news came back from the doctor a few days later that Ellie had a nasal myxoid sarcoma. This sweet girl was surrendered after 6 years by her owners to a shelter in Baltimore, MD who probably knew something was wrong. She was then relocated to Yorkie 911 Rescue . It was reported to the rescue that she had been experiencing some nose bleeds and was put on antibiotics and the nosebleeds stopped. After a further work up including X-rays, CT scans, and a nasal biopsy Ellie was diagnosed with this nasal cancer. I was with Dana that day as she paid the $5000 for the testing and knew this was just the beginning of this journey. She is currently being given some medicines to keep her comfortable, however the tumor is occluding one of her nostrils so she frequently has difficulty breathing and has bouts of coughing. Ellie is a candidate for stereotactic radiation therapy to treat this tumor before it spreads. Despite this medical problem, Ellie is an energetic happy girl who can play fetch for hours on end, loves to run on the beach and she is beyond loving and lovable. The veterinarians believe she is a very good candidate for the radiation and will likely achieve a complete remission. Dana has vowed to not give up on Ellie and to see her through this treatment no matter what because that is what love is and there can be no price tag on Love! Dana is a critical care nurse at Northwell Health and is truly a Health Care Hero and A very special human being. Knowing the monetary expense associated with keeping Ellie she wouldn’t even consider returning her back to Yorkie911. The estimated costs associated with this treatment is well over 10,000 dollars and I could not imagine Dana and Her Family bearing the weight of this emotional and financial burden alone. Ellie needs to start treatment immediately and Dana needs to give a 50% deposit to start. I humbly ask all and anyone who reads this to please help and donate to this fundraiser.
