Help support Dana’s Medical Bills
The backstory
Dana had her sweet daughter, Savannah back in November of 2019. She spent the next 12 weeks getting comfortable in her new role as a mother. By the time she had to head back to work as a PT at Duke, she noticed that she was having significant hip pain. She thought it could have been some side effects of being pregnant, delivery and nursing, but as the pain got worse and worse, she decided to see a doctor. She had to advocate for herself as most professionals couldn't find a cause. It was after a scan that Dana’s worst fears came true. She had stage 4 lung cancer that had metastasized and spread to her hip.
Treatment
Dana had to do radiation and is on medication in order to shrink the tumor and kill the cancer that had grown in her hip. She is still being treated and continues to have scans to make sure the tumor is shrinking and that the cancer isn’t spreading. So far both of those are still true!
How you can help
Dana’s medical bills are huge. To make matters worse, Keith (Dana’s husband) lost his job shortly after the pandemic hit and so they are currently making do with just Dana’s income. Dana, Keith, and Savannah would really appreciate any donations that could help them pay down her medical bills.
Thank you so much,
Kerrie Albright and Tamsyn Coon
