While competing during The Texas Covid Classic powerlifting meet, one of the superstars of the day was Danh Tran. He had an amazing showing on all attempts. As he was chasing the lead and was about to hit lockout on his second deadlift attempt to take 1st overall, he suffered a catastrophic distal bicep tear, confirmed today by his doctor.

I want to take a moment and highlight how amazing this guy is. Despite the horrible injury, he handled the whole thing with incredible calmness and grace, saying he wouldn’t change anything about the day. He truly is one of the most amazing people I have met. He is the most motivating and positive person in the face of adversity and uncertainty. He even joked about learning hook grip while he put his ice pad on. This man is a competitor!

Let’s take a moment to help him out with some unplanned expenses that he is faced with. I think we all feel the HomeGym discord is a family, and one of our own could use some help. Help him get fixed so he can learn to hook grip and crush some more numbers!

So far, the expected medical bills can be seen below. We expect there to be additional costs including doctors/MRI, Physical Therapy, and anesthesia at the very least. We will continue to update the GFM as more information becomes available.

How will "my" money be used?
Donations will be collected via GoFundMe and paid out to either Danh or direct to the providers. We're still trying to figure that part out. Danh is working on getting us itemized receipts for everything.
