Help Daniel achieve a full & independent life

Donation protected

We are Daniel's family asking for any assistance and support that you may have to offer. On May 21, 2021, Daniel had a tragic diving accident that broke his neck resulting in severe spinal cord damage. This day has forever changed Daniel's future as he is now a quadriplegic.

Daniel is 25 years young and recently graduated on the Deans list with a double major at the University of Waterloo in Honours Business and Psychology. Daniel is planning to continue school when he is able and attain his Masters degree in the Psychology field.  Attached is a picture from Daniel's Graduation taken only weeks before his accident.

Everyone that knows Daniel would describe him as thoughtful, hard working, ethical, and fun loving with a great sense of humour. We are all so very appreciative he has not lost any of these traits despite his current physical limitations.

Daniel recently was transferred from Victoria Hospital London critical trauma unit, and has begun his rehabilitation at Parkwood Institute. Daniel’s C5 injury (burst) has resulted in severe spinal cord damage, and his initial prognosis was that he is most likely to develop limited arm movement, and no lower body movement. Daniel’s Surgeons, and Health care and Rehab providers have been and continue to be amazing, and we are all hopeful that he surpass these limitations.

Daniel is anxious and willing to work hard to gain as much independence and recovery as possible, with the hope to be released in approximately 3 months. Upon his release Daniel is hoping to adopt and train a Puppy to be trained as his service dog and companion.

Neither Daniel nor his parents have any private healthcare benefit coverage for many related expenses to help in his recovery and integration when he is released from Parkwood.  To name a few, Daniel will require extensive physiotherapy, a full time PSW (personal support worker), medication, home renovations or home relocation to accommodate his needs, a specialized motorized wheelchair, and a lift system.

We would appreciate any and all forms of prayers and support that may assist Daniel's recovery and integration into his new and independent life. It is our hope to have as many people supporting and cheering Daniel on as possible.
