A Devastating Fire Changed Our Lives

My name is Daniel Shemtob, and recently, my family and I faced an unimaginable tragedy. Our home was destroyed in a devastating fire, leaving us without a place to live and with countless memories and belongings lost. With my wife expecting in just a few months, we really had to scramble. My brother also lost his home in the same fire, and both my brother-in-law and my in-laws are still evacuated, finding refuge in our current home as we navigate these challenging times together.

In the midst of our struggles, we found strength in giving back. This past week, through World Central Kitchen and Snibbs, we began providing free footwear and delicious meals to those in need. The outpouring of support and the desire of others to volunteer and help inspired us to do more. We realized that even in our darkest moments, we could make a positive impact on our community.
