Help Danielle and Adrian’s Recovery after Eaton Canyon Fire

My name is Danielle Williams. I have called Pasadena home for my entire life, but recently moved back to Altadena to be closer to my family. My roommate, Adrian, and I shared a beautiful apartment nestled in the foothills of Altadena—a space filled with furniture and cherished items passed down from loved ones who are no longer with us. My mother, a pastor and a pillar of this community, dedicated her life to addressing local issues. She passed away in 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer, and my home was a sanctuary filled with cherished mementos that carried her memory and spirit. Adrian, originally from NorCal doesn’t have family nearby, and she, too, lost everything dear to her, including precious keepsakes from her late grandmother. Adrian is a gifted artist, and all her life’s work, gone—years of finished and unfinished paintings, as well as her oil painting supplies. It’s a devastating loss for someone whose art is a deep expression of who she is. The only things we managed to save were my beloved cats, who are now deeply distressed. We left with nothing but the clothes on our backs and now face the heartbreaking reality of having lost everything. We are reaching out to this wonderful community, knowing that so many others are also enduring unimaginable losses. Your kindness and generosity will not only help us get back up on our feet, but also remind us of the strength we find in one another during times of hardship. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for anything you can offer. Together, we will get through this.
With gratitude,
Danielle Williams
