A Mother’s Fight for Stability and Health
Life has a way of testing us with trials that seem insurmountable. I am a 42-year-old single mother, and my daughter (11 years old) is the light of my life. Since August 23, we have faced the kind of challenge that I never imagined we would have to endure – homelessness.
The journey has been tough. Recently, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), a condition that came to light after I lost feeling in my arm. Despite this, I found solace in being able to work from home, which allowed me to provide for my daughter and keep her world stable. But as my condition worsened and I had to go to the hospital multiple times due to complications from the MS, I lost my job, and with it, our lifeline. We’ve been surviving through the kindness of friends and a church community. I am so grateful we can soon move into a more stable, yet temporary, place to live so that I can focus on getting a job and attending to our physical and mental health.
I’ve always been someone who believed in hard work over handouts, but today, with the encouragement from others I am swallowing my pride to ask for your help. I need to secure a stable home for my daughter and myself.
I have no family in the area to turn to, and so I turn to you – the community, friends, and even strangers with generous hearts. Your support means more than just financial aid; it is a beacon of hope in our darkest hours.
Please consider contributing to our GoFundMe. Any amount, big or small, will help us get through this challenging time. With your support, I believe we can overcome this and rebuild a stable, healthy life. Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for your kind consideration.
