Help Danielle With Surgery And Medical Expenses

My name is Danielle. I'm a trans woman and I've been transitioning for 6 years now. I’m ready to surgically complete my journey and have one of my gender confirmation surgeries.

However, recently I found out I have been cut off from my insurance because I'm turning 26. Only to find out when researching that insurance is just way more money than I can afford, which means I will no longer be able to afford my therapy and prescriptions, let alone the surgery.

 

There are so many different medical expenses that add up for these types of surgeries and just medically transitioning in general. I am completely and utterly overwhelmed and don't know what else to do.

 

The money from this fundraiser will be used for the price of my surgery and helping pay for insurance to continue my therapy and HRT.

 

Some people think gender affirming surgeries are cosmetic and for vanity. They don’t realize how life changing and important they are. And for some of us like myself not having these types of surgeries can negatively affect us and how we function in every facet of our lives.

 

The debilitating panic attacks, anxiety and depression caused by not having these surgeries has made it impossible to lead a normal life and function in society.

 

Not every trans person needs or wants surgery or to medically transition. It is entirely individual, and not everyone wants the same things. As for me, I have been dreaming of the day that I can have this surgery and finally be relieved of my dysphoria. I know in my heart the only way I could ever truly have peace in my own body is to have this surgery.
