Help Danny’s Double Heart Attack Recovery Journey

Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,

I come to you today with a heart heavy with worry and a spirit filled with hope. My name is Tina, and I am reaching out to you in a time of desperate need for my husband Danny and myself. Married for over 28 years with unfortunately no children. In October 2023, our lives were forever altered when my beloved husband suffered not one, but two massive heart attacks 5 days apart from one another. He was hospitalized for 2 and a half weeks and was unable to leave the hospital without having to wear a defibrillator vest for 3 months because his heart was only working at 20%. On top of that we learned he has a blood disorder that thickens the blood which that is forcing his heart to work overtime. All of this with NO medical health insurance. For six long years, he dedicated himself to serving others in hospice care, a testament to his unwavering compassion and strength. Now being disabled and unable to work at 56, our journey has been one of immense challenges, financial strain, and the unwavering commitment to each other's well-being. Yet, despite our efforts, the weight of financial strain looms large, threatening to consume us whole.

As we navigate through the aftermath of these traumatic events, we find ourselves facing overwhelming financial burdens. All the medical bills piling up and with my husband's ongoing medical needs and our dependence on his disability approval, our savings have been depleted, leaving us unable to meet our monthly expenses. We are several months behind on crucial payments, including rent, utilities, and vehicle installments.

To compound matters, I ventured into opening a small beauty business in March 2023, hoping to contribute to our household income using the bulk of our saving. However, the unexpected turn of events forced me to close the business abruptly to prioritize caring for my husband during his recovery. While my heart remains devoted to his healing journey, the reality of our financial struggles looms large, leaving us in dire need of assistance.

Currently, we are faced with the daunting task of catching up on overdue bills, including the final two payments for one of our vehicles. My husband vehicle is now 5 months behind because I was unable to make 2 payments at once. This vehicle serves as a lifeline for us, providing transportation to medical appointments and essential errands. Falling behind on these payments puts us at risk of losing this crucial asset, further exacerbating our already precarious situation.
