Help Dany get through short term disability
Donation protected
My name is Dany, and over the last few months, I have been mourning the passing of my long-time companion and emotional support animal, Mister Meow. He was a huge pillar in my life, and brought joy and comfort to many people besides me. Losing him meant losing a close family member that I relied on for strength and support, and it has been a struggle figuring out what my life might look like going forward.
Mourning him has been a difficult process, and it has taken a huge toll on my physical and mental health. Despite my best efforts at processing the grief, as time goes on I get less and less sleep, regularly feeling sick and nauseous, as depression and thoughts of suicide take root in my body. Moving through my days has become an immense effort, and I can't afford to wait for it to get worse. The best and only thing I can do at the moment is take short term disability while I focus on taking care of my health.
Fortunately, I have a few options lined up for support and treatment, but I can't do it while working. While I am grateful to have this route available to me, taking short-term disability means I still only get 60% of my pay during this period, and unfortunately it won't cover the rent and bills. Getting those basics covered would mean the difference between getting help and not.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. Please consider sharing and donating - even a little bit would go a long way to making a tangible difference in my life.
