Help DanzNewz Move

THE GOAL

My wife Liz and I need your help to move back home with my Dad as soon as we can to help him with his health, and so we can get back on our feet financially after struggling paycheck to paycheck over the last many years.

 

 

WHY?

We started this GoFundMe to cover the costs of buying out our lease within the terms of our lease agreement with our apartment landlord. The agreement requires two months' rent ($2,798 we rounded up to $3,000 to cover any accompanying costs and fees) and 60 days' notice for us to leave early. Otherwise, we'd have to fulfill the final six months on the lease, and it's already been tough making rent the last few months, let alone staring down the barrel of another six. If we meet our goal soon, we can move in with my Dad by late March/early April and will not have to worry about rent before moving.

 

Liz and I moved away from Colorado to North Carolina to be close to family and find a cheaper living situation almost three years ago. We ended up spending all of our savings on the move, depleting any funds we had available to use in case of an emergency. Rent in our new NC apartment was more affordable, being a few hundred dollars cheaper than our CO apartment. After renewing our lease with a hike in price twice since 2019, it has gotten tougher and tougher to break even, and we've further fallen into the hole financially.

 

BENEFITS

It's been a big decision to consider, but this move will be a win/win for my Dad and us in so many ways. With my Dad's recent separation from his wife, my stepmom, he's living alone in a large house. He's not in the best situation being alone, but he's looking to get healthier and in a refreshed state of mind. We want to help him get in a better spot physically and mentally. He has plenty of space for Liz, our kitties, and me to live and have plenty of room to stream and produce content.

 

On top of that, I'd be closer to my Mom and 92-year-old Grandfather, with whom I haven't been able to spend much time the last decade after moving out to Colorado in 2012. I was able to spend some quality time with my Grandfather last year on a few occasions, but with him being nearly 3 hours away, it's tough to be able to make it out as much as I'd like it. The time we have spent together has been priceless and some of the best quality time I've been able to spend with him in my life. I would love to have all the time I can with him, and this is a significant opportunity to have just that.
