My name is Kesha and I'm raising funds to help my sister in law Daphne get help with cancer treatment costs.This cause means so much to me because not only is Daphne my sister-in-law, but she is a light for so many in the world. She works with adults with disabilities, and her dream is to open her own house. Not only is she compassionate, but she has a smile and a laugh that can change the spirit of whatever room she's in.
An emergency room visit on Feb 19th for suspected gastritis sent this family's life into a tailspin. Instead of leaving with a prescription for rest and a few antibiotics, they were given a cancer diagnosis. A follow up appointment confirmed the ER's suspicion and Daphne has an extremely rare and advanced type of cancer called leiomyosarcoma.
Fist step of treatment include removal of the tumor and removal of several adjacent organs. She was referred to a specialist in the DFW area, and the doctor's office is asking for payment of over 14,000 dollars just for the surgery alone. We are working tirelessly to find local treatment so that she can stay with her wife and children.
Funds provided would be used to help with lost income, transportation, medical expenses, and others. Because of the aggressive nature of this cancer, there is a need for immediate and ongoing funding.
