Daphne’s Recovery from TBI and new POTS diagnosis

This is my beautiful, 19 year old, daughter Daphne. She is artistic, smart, funny, kind and has the biggest giving heart. She is a thoughtful and  giving daughter and sister to her 6 siblings, and the easiest person to be around.

 

On Tuesday December 28th, while on her way to work, she lost control of her car, on the rain soaked roads and was hit by a dump truck. This was just 3 miles from home.

 

She was taken by ambulance, to the hospital, where they found a 3rd degree tear in her kidney, a traumatic brain injury, glass filled lacerations on her head and face and a body full of bruises. By the grace of God, she’s alive and recovering at home now.

 

She requires around the clock care because she is unable to stand, walk or perform her activities of daily living without assistance. Thankfully, I am an Registered Nurse at Mercy Hospital where I am able to take the time off to provide constant care, during her recovery as well as taking her to her Cognitive, Occupational, Physical, and Speech therapies.

 

She still has a long road to full recovery, but she is motivated to get back to life.

 

Your generous donations will ensure that she doesn’t start this new chapter of her life struggling with debt by helping her with her medical deductibles, medications, therapies and her monthly bills during the time she’ll be off work. She will need a vehicle, as hers was totaled in the accident, and an insurance claim is not possible.
