Help Darcy Walk Again After Accident

My name is Michelle Dukes, and I am starting this fundraiser on behalf of my sister Darcy. Recently Darcy was involved in a horrific accident which resulted in a fractured tibia, and kneecap. Surgery was performed within 24 hours. Numerous screws and a metal plate were placed in her leg. Darcy is currently wearing a metal brace which she will have on for the next eight months. After spending two weeks in the hospital, Darcy arrived home today where her long recovery will begin. For the next three months Darcy will not be able to walk. A full recovery will take approximately eight months. During this recovery period Darcy will be working with a physical therapist to learn how to walk again.

My sister has a very difficult time asking for help. She is the one who does the helping and giving to others and rescuing animals. Darcy is self-employed running a small landscaping business. She also gives her free time working part time at a local senior living center, driving a Handi Tran for the residents.

Due to her current situation, Darcy will not be able to perform these jobs. She will not have an income for at least eight months. The purpose of this fundraiser is to provide support so she will be able to pay bills and get the things she needs. No one plans on life altering events to happen, but when they do, we all need a little help from our friends, family, and unknown supporters.
