Help Darlene rebuild her life
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Rachelle. I’m Darlene’s daughter and only child. On Wednesday September 28, 2022, Hurricane Ian destroyed my Mom’s multigenerational childhood home-which was built by her parents in 1960 on the Caloosahatchee River.
The storm surge eroded her sea wall and then flooded her home with 3 feet of water.
It destroyed every piece of memorabilia; photographs, clothing, and personal items, as well as the Florida Room, shed, cabinetry, furniture and appliances.
My mom does NOT have any flood insurance to cover any damages and her home is inhabitable. While Darlene is waiting on the process to rebuild, she’s looking for a motor home to stay in. She’s gotten a quote to replace the sea wall for $55,000.
By the grace of God, the non profit, ROWW, came in and they mucked and gutted her house; which was a daunting task for the two of us.
Not only has this catastrophic event impacted her physically, she is mentally and emotionally distraught. Her every day life is no longer the same.
She’s the most positive person I know and this disaster is taking a toll on her. I’m looking for any way possible to help my mom. Darlene has always been known to give second chances, now’s the time to give her a second chance. If you know her, you know that she would give the shirt off her back for anyone and give them anything she could. She has helped so many other people in her life because of the caring and loving person that she is. She needs our help now more than ever. If you find it within your means and your heart, your donation is greatly appreciated and we would be forever grateful.
Thank you,
Rachelle
