Help Darnice Beat Stomach Cancer

Last month (March 2024), I received the devastating news of an aggressive stomach cancer diagnosis. Full of excitement to start a new job, make new memories with my family, and continue celebrating life, it completely blindsided me. As a BRCA1-positive, two-time survivor of Breast Cancer, it’s draining knowing I have to face off with cancer for a third time. I never thought this would happen to me again. I'm still in shock, but this is my current challenge.

During my previous cancer bouts, I was fortunate to have great jobs with excellent health insurance. Unfortunately, my present financial circumstances are drastically different. I'm underinsured, have exhausted my savings, and my cancer symptoms, doctors' appointments, and treatments have forced me to quit the new job I just landed.

Being ill is already hard to deal with, but having to go through it when you're broke can make it feel downright impossible. It is one of the most disquieting feelings anyone could ever experience. But now, I'm here and need your helping hand more than ever. That's why I'm humbly asking you to donate any amount you can to help support me during my cancer journey.

Having cancer is truly taxing in every sense of the word, and saying the cost of treatment is expensive is an understatement. Every dollar and cent you donate to my GoFundMe campaign will go towards alleviating the financial strain of medical bills and co-pays from my cancer treatment. It will also help with the day-to-day living and housing expenses I will incur during the next several months. Your contributions will be a tremendous blessing, allowing me to better focus on healing.

I'm facing a difficult path ahead, with several months of chemotherapy before and after my surgery. With your support, I can ensure less financial stress and burden will be added to my plate at this time, allowing me to navigate this rocky road to recovery, remission, and a return to normalcy more peacefully.
