Help Darren Foote Get Back on His Feet! ;)

On March 28, 2019 , our friend Darren Foote was traveling through the Mission on a MUNI bus when he was harassed by another passenger with homophobic and hateful speech. Darren decided to take the high road, tolerate, and ignore this type of passenger we have all encountered on SF mass transit.
He was quickly assaulted and rushed to the ER which ended with 8 stitches, a broken nose, and other unnecessary injuries.
Darren is a great and genuine friend to many with equal parts passion, creativity, soul, fun, and talent. Pop that in the oven at 365 degrees for 40 min. and you get Darren. He loves the world of food and what it can do for families, communities, and friends as he has shared his dishes and wine with his friends.
To let Darren continue being the stand up guy he is, we're asking for $1,000 to cover medical expenses, time off work, and other expenses that cannot be imagined right now. Anything left over will be donated to THE HUMAN RIGHTS CAMPAIGN and NOH8 by Darren.
The LGBTI community, PoC community, any of us could be harassed and attacked for simply EXISTING. Rise up, support each other, be safe, and THRIVE!! :D
