Hi everyone,

My name is Darrick Doerner. Many of you may know me from my years spent in the ocean — as a lifeguard, a big wave surfer, and someone who’s always tried to live with strength, courage, and heart. Today, I’m facing a new kind of wave: I’ve been diagnosed with prostate cancer.

I’ve recently undergone prostate surgery and am now going through radiation treatment. It’s been physically and emotionally challenging, but I’m determined to fight this with everything I’ve got. Cancer doesn’t just take a toll on the body — it impacts every part of life, including finances.

The costs of surgery, radiation treatments, medications, follow-up care, and being unable to work as I focus on recovery have been overwhelming. That’s why I’m reaching out for support.
