Help Darryl and Max keep their home

Please help my neighbor be able to stay in his house.
We have lived next to Darryl for 16 years. In that time, we have come to view him not only as a wonderful neighbor, but like a brother who would do anything to help out. He has helped us, other members of his community, his family, and strangers on the street. Darryl is unique. I would describe him as neurodiverse, and due to a miriad of issues, it never seemed to be in the cards for Darryl to move out and live independently. Yet, we also watched first hand how he cared for his aging and ailing parents and kept that property a home for them and a place they could live out their days. Without him, they would have had to move to assisted living and nursing care, surely resulting in the sale of their home and more bills than they could have afforded. Darryl was always there for them. Now that both of his parents are gone, Darryl is alone, except for the companionship of his dog Max and a group of neighbors who have come to see him as a brother. Our neighborhood is all Darryl has, and all he has ever known. Unfortunately, Darryl is being forced to leave his home because a will written long ago calls for the sale of the house and a division of the profits among Darryl and his two siblings -- one living and the estate of the other. It doesn't take into account the years of labor and assistance he provided to his parents and to caring for the property. Despite some pretty tough personal challenges and limitations, Darryl has found full-time work and for nearly a year has been trying to earn enough money to buy out the house. Unfortunately, the clock has run out, and now at the age of 60, he is facing imminent eviction from his family so the house can sell. He has no where to go and no adequate access to necessary resources that quite frankly, he should have been introduced to decades ago. I am sad and scared for him and for Max, and the thought of him being homeless or separated from his dog and his community is soul crushing. I am disheartened that the overarching motivation here is money, rather than finding a way for him to live out his days in his family home -- one that still exists because of his efforts. I can't sit by and do nothing and watch him be kicked to the curb, so I'm calling on the goodwill and generosity of the community who knows Darryl and knows in their hearts that he is a good person who was dealt a tough hand in life, and who needs a hand up. If you have the resources, would you please consider making a donation to help gather the funds for him to buy his house and stay in his home?
