Help Dashi Heal: Support Her Recovery
Donation protected
- On September 28th, my daughter and her family’s beautiful, young, Siamese kitty, Dashi, went missing from her home, and one month later was found abused and shot! She had never been outside before and is deeply loved. It is unknown how she got outside; she went to bed with Chelsea, and when she woke up, Dashi was gone. We searched endlessly, heartbroken and worried. We feared the worst yet never stopped looking. We did everything we could to make neighbors, animal control officers, local vets, and animal shelters aware of our missing baby.
- Fast forward an entire month, and we were kindly alerted that she had been spotted in East Sandwich. We searched the area and found her underneath a deck, cowering, starving, hurt, and scared. We were elated and ready to get her the care she needed. It was obvious she had almost starved to death, but upon further investigation and multiple emergency vet visits, we discovered nothing short of pure horror. Dashi’s scapula had been crushed, possibly kicked or stomped on, leaving sharp protruding fragments in her. Additionally, she was SHOT! She has multiple lesions and a “Diablo style” pellet lodged in her head. Dashi still has a serrated metal pellet protruding from her head.. Someone aimed directly at Dashi’s head and shot her.
- As the rest of her body is working hard to recover, she cannot endure surgery at the moment. The plan is to have this reassessed soon, and hopefully have the pellet/s surgically removed.
- Dashi’s medical expenses are accumulating, and I would like her to receive all of the necessary veterinary care that will allow her the best possible quality of life.Your support for Dashi’s care is deeply appreciated. For now, Dashi is home, being cared for and loved.
