Help Dasmayer's Family Beat Leukemia
My name is Anthony Termini and I am a member of the e-sports league called Minor League Esports, which is a nontoxic community of gamers who participate in a fun but competitive Rocket League league, with expansions into other games coming soon. I am also the current general manager of the team Express. Rocket League obviously holds a special place in our hearts, but it’s also important to remember the things that matter most: friends and family, and that was really brought to light this past week. One of our players, Dasmayer, endured one of the most heartbreaking things a parent can hear. Last week, his daughter was diagnosed with leukemia, a cancer that suppresses the production of blood cells. Leukemia accounts for about 3.3 percent of all cancer diagnoses in the US each year, and while most cases are found in adults, it is the most common type of cancer in children. Overall, the survival rates for children who have this disease are pretty high, but it can still have a big financial, mental, and physical impact on both the patient and family. Because of this, we believe it would be a big relief to help out a teammate in need.
Dasmayer is one of the most genuine people I know, always bringing a positive attitude and a smile come game time. In addition, he is an amazing father, always putting the needs of his family first. His son, daughter, and wife are the joys of his life, and since the diagnosis, he has been spending almost all of his time with them. He is our teammate and we can't leave him behind, so all proceeds from this fundraiser will go to his family to help with all the associated costs of his daughter's diagnosis and treatment. We hope this can be a little light in a dark tunnel, and wish Dasmayer's daughter the quickest recovery possible.
