Help Dave & Vicky Rebuild After Hurricane Ian

Hello, we are Jeff and Amy Betz, and we are writing on behalf of our neighbors, Dave and Vicky. Our neighborhood was devastated by Hurricane Ian six months ago, with a storm surge of 10 feet that left our homes severely damaged. All of our houses had to be stripped down to the studs and rebuilt. While our family has been fortunate enough to move back into our home, many of our neighbors are still struggling to finish rebuilding theirs.

Dave and Vicky, who live across the street from us, are one such family. They had home insurance, but unfortunately, they did not have flood insurance, so their losses were not covered. Despite working two jobs each for six days a week, they have been dedicating their only day off to repairing their home. They've even used their retirement savings to purchase supplies and are rebuilding the house themselves.

With the help of friends and family, they have made some progress: they have completed one bedroom and part of the kitchen, enabling them to move back in. They've done all the demolition, drywall, and bathroom work on their own, spending every spare moment they have for the past six months on this project.

Dave is a kind-hearted man who never hesitates to help others, even with his own plate full. For instance, he assisted us with moving our camper when we moved into our driveway and shared invaluable tips about camper life.

This GoFundMe page is set up with the goal to help Dave and Vicky finish their home. The funds raised will be used for finishing the mudding and painting, purchasing bedroom doors, contributing towards furniture, and any other necessary supplies.
