Help David and ASGO This Autism Month

Tax deductible
I love someone with Autism. You've heard that said, and for a growing number of people, it has become a reality. We say it proudly and without complaint, though. My son David has brought such a depth and richness to all of our lives... and maybe a few challenges too! I'm certain that each of my adult children has a collection of "David stories" where they were either doubled over in laughter with him or completely mortified! I can tell you this though... the effect of having a special needs sibling is the development of a fine-tuned sense of compassion and understanding for those who are different and special. I am so proud of how my adult children and their families move with kindness and consideration for others in that community.

April is Autism Awareness and Acceptance month. Each year, we support our local community organization known as ASGO in their ongoing quest to support the ASD community in a vast number of ways. ASGO provides a variety of opportunities for those on the autism spectrum, as well as those with related disabilities and their families, to gather for fun, encouragement, education, and support. Additionally, ASGO has provided autism training for law enforcement agencies throughout Florida and beyond to prevent traumatic situations for those on the spectrum. ASGO also provides age-appropriate social skills groups which facilitate growth in social interaction and just plain fun for these amazing folks. Social Skills are David's favorite ASGO events and he has been participating since the inception of the group many years ago. There are many other programs and supports available through ASGO, too numerous to mention here, but are invaluable to the hundreds of ASGO member families.

Once a year, ASGO holds its only fundraiser, The ASGO Walk, to raise funds which stay in our community and support its members. Would you consider making a small donation on behalf of David's walk team "David's Full House," (so-named after his favorite sitcom)? Any amount is appreciated and if you are interested in attending the walk, please check out the ASGO Facebook page.

Thank you kindly for taking the time to read this and for considering lending your support to David and ASGO!
