Help David, Karen & Annie

Camp Fire Victims -- Our names are David, Karen and Annie. We are the owners of the historic Rock House restaurant located in Yankee Hill On Hwy 70. Before the sun rose Friday morning The historic icon was laying in ruins along with our home, equipement, income and our life savings. The original 18" thick rock walls are still standing and we hope to begin rebuilding immediately, only we have nothing left to put into it and no fire insurance. This will be tough as we put our hearts and souls into this place, all we want to do is cry, but we will push through as we have always done and we will stand taller than before. With Gods help anything is possible and we will not quit. The Rock House was built in 1937 using horse and wagon to locally source the rock it was built with. When we purchased the Rock House in 2014 it had been closed for a number of years after Bob Ausmus passed away, sitting vacant and in need of repair. We gave it everything we had and brought the Rock House vibrantly back to life. With a beautiful garden patio a well lit cross on the hill, expresso, wine tasting and a welcoming smile everytime you came in. The Rock House will once again be a light in the darkness to this community and many a weary travelers. We will first need to set up a mobile home or some other living acomadation, and then we will put a roof back atop those massive rock walls. And before you know it there will be music and dancing every Saturday night again. I believe we can make the place better than ever for under 300,000. Anything you can do to bring this dream back to life would be an unbelievable blessing and more appreciated than you know. You can look us up on the web at Rockhousehwy70.com
