Help David L. Lowery Jr. Uplift Disadvantaged Communities

David L. Lowery Jr. is President and Founder of Living & Driving While Black Foundation, Inc., a national civil rights organization that advocates against racial profiling while promoting economic opportunities for ex-offenders, disadvantaged youth, and indigent individuals throughout the country.

David is a native of Mississippi and grew up in Chicago, Illinois. He attended Black Hawk and Scott Community Colleges. He holds a certificate of completion from the United States Army Logistics Management Center, Defense Small Purchase program.

His professional work experience spans many years as a dedicated, hardworking individual serving both his country and his community as an activist. He has served in the United States Navy, worked at the Rock Island Arsenal with the United States Army Corps of Engineers, and has experience as a union ironworker. He is the immediate past president of the Rock Island, Illinois, chapter of the NAACP and has worked as a National Crisis Director for the National Action Network, NY. David has operated a successful computer sales and technology business and in addition, he has an extensive background in contracting and procurement.

David is an experienced speaker on the national stage, and his Foundation is often sought out by various civic and social services agencies to assist in finding ways to alleviate social/economic/legal barriers to minorities. He is a charismatic, powerful leader and facilitator who has received several mentions in major media outlets across the nation for his outstanding and no-nonsense approach to combating discrimination. He is passionate about the mission of his Foundation and dedicated to helping people by transferring knowledge that uplifts and empowers them to positive civic actions.

Throughout the years, David has funded his organization personally, as well as through a few fundraising activities. He currently offers a line of clothing that bears the organization's logo and motto: Truth & Justice, Stop Racial Profiling.
