Help David Lopez's Family with Funeral Costs

My name is Sara and my dad, David Lopez, was diagnosed with stage 3 squamous cell carcinoma in July of 2024. On September 30th, my dad underwent an 8-hour surgery to remove the cancer from his head! After the surgery, the doctors told us that the cancer had already spread to his skull and then to the brain! MD Anderson was skeptical about treatment as my dad was too weak to undergo cancer treatments. They wanted him to do TWO rounds of immunotherapy and put everything together for my dad to receive those treatments closer to home in Beaumont, Texas. My dad went to the oncologist here in Beaumont, who decided he was going to start my dad on chemotherapy. After one round of chemotherapy, my dad's cancer started to spread and spread rapidly. By the second week, my dad was unable to fully see or even hear. Then his cancer started taking a toll on him swallowing just liquids! He was admitted into the hospital where we were told the cancer had already spread throughout and it was just a matter of time! They told us on hospice he may make it a few weeks. Well, those few weeks turned into a few short days and on December 29th, 2024, at 12:07 pm, my dad was gone and went to heaven!

Due to the unforeseen circumstances, my mother was not prepared for any of this. My dad had no life insurance, no savings; they are on a fixed income! After calling and speaking to funeral homes from here to Houston and surrounding areas, one funeral home in Houston agreed to help at a much lower cost and took some of the weight off my shoulders. But the cost to have him cremated with no memorial service, etc., is going to cost my mother $2000, money she doesn’t have!

We understand that times are hard, but if you have it in your heart and can spare even the smallest amount, please help me get my dad what he deserves! He was an amazing husband, dad, and grandpa!!! Thank you all so incredibly much!!!!
