Help David Rebuild Tortuga After Hurricanes

From Tortuga's heart to your belly, Tortuga has shown love with great food, served with big smiles. David's sole mission has been to spread joy by providing fresh, authentic Mexican food at a great value to the community he loves. After Helene, David got to work, reopening almost immediately, doing what he loves to do.

Sadly, Milton was the knockout punch in a one-two. What was spared from Helene was taken by Milton. Everything from electric, flooring, exterior, to all the kitchen appliances, needs to be replaced or repaired before Tortuga can reopen. Beautiful customers have reached out, asking how to help. Any donation will help reopening, and be met with gratitude and a full heart.

Luckily, the Tortuga food truck made it unscathed and will be out serving the community as soon as possible, bridging the gap until Tortuga is able to restore the restaurant and offer its full menu again.

Since the day David arrived on the food scene here making fresh guacamole, tamales, and ceviche at the farmer's market, he has loved this community. In short order, he opened Tortuga, a place meant for everyone to enjoy fresh street food... usually finishing with an ice cream treat from Pink Pony. David's tenacious spirit won't let the hurricane's destruction be Tortuga's last chapter. He's already back in there, assessing where to pick up and begin again, planning how to manage through. You'll see him and his good friends and neighbors working out there at 471 Park Ave this week, cutting through the sand, the clay, the sticky salt coating, preparing to start again.
