Help David Recover from Loss and Financial Strain

Donation protected
I am David (Dave) Vail. In Late January this year my wife Beverly became ill and was taken to Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksberg VA. After she collapsed in our yard. She was taken to the ER where they put her on life support and placed her into a medical induced coma and they started treating her for COVID induced phenomena. She was taken to the ICU and they continued treating her for the infection in her lungs. She lasted until February 8th. At 11:35 am. Long enough for her brothers and sisters to come and see her and say good bye. That day I lost my best friend and the love of my life. In the days that followed while making arrangments to habe her buried I discovered that her insurance policy only $ 5,000. Lucky for me that I was able to use some of my GI benifits and I was able to have her places at Quantico National Cemetery as a Military Dependent. Long and short of the story we were also 3 months behind on the mortgage and some other bills. When I put the insurance money in our checking account the bank saw that there was enough money to pay 2 of the late mortage payments and took them from the account leaving me with not enough money to pay the funeral home for their services. A little over $5,000. So all that said. I work for Wal-Mart. I get asked why dont you find a better job. I smile and tell them the truth. Not many companies want to hire a 62 year old man and pay them $20+ dollars an hour to do a job when they can hire a 20-25 year old person to do the same job. So in the end, all I am asking for is some help trying to get my life back together and my finances to a point that I am a little more stable and can make ends meet. Please help if you feel the desire.

I realise that it's been 7 months (services were held February 19th 2024) since she passed. I have been doing my best to move on a little at a time. Its hard. Everywhere I turn I see something that reminds me of her (this is not bad). I miss her greatly. I go to the cemetery every week at least once or twice a week on my days off to bring flowers and to pray and to talk to her. It helps. I miss her like you wouldnt believe. What do I do in my off time you ask? I mostly sit in my house and sometimes cry and all the time I just sit here and feel sorry for myself.
