Help Dave Silvester fund his Stem Cell Transplant
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Dave Silvester and in early 2020 I began feeling pain and became very ill. After months of testing I was diagnosed with a fatal auto immune disease, Diffuse Scleroderma. I am going for treatment and need your help to pay for the extra costs.
This disease has been fast progressing for me and I have tried different medications but unfortunately my health has not improved and I am quite debilitated. Medical specialists have recommended I receive a stem cell transplant which is an invasive procedure but I hope it will give me a second chance at life!
I live in Powell River, BC and the closest hospital for the procedure is in Calgary, Alberta. The procedure takes at least 3 months and is covered through health care but I will need to cover the costs of relocation, accommodation, transport, and medication. There will also be annual follow up appointments after the procedure.
I was laid off from my job at Catalyst Paper in early 2020 and have been living off of minimal government and disability assistance. Unfortunately, I do not have money to cover the additional costs when I get this procedure, on top of my current expenses.
I am asking for your help so I can afford to receive the stem cell transplant. I am hopeful that this will greatly improve my quality of life. It has been a very difficult time and I am so grateful to my loving wife, Jenifer, and the support of my family and friends.
Thank you so much for your consideration.
- Dave
