Help Dawn Get Back on the Road for Her Son and Her Work

Hello, everyone. My name is Dawn Esparza, and I’m originally from Pasadena, now living in Houston's Springbranch/ Memorial area with my youngest son, who is a junior in high school. Life has been a roller coaster, but I’ve always done my best to keep moving forward despite the challenges.
Today, I’m reaching out because I desperately need help. This morning, while driving my son to school, my car’s transmission went out. We were driving down the road, and the vehicle started jerking. Then it stopped moving, and Red transmission fluid was all over the ground. Without a reliable vehicle, I can’t get my son to school or get myself to the jobs I rely on to make ends meet.
A few years ago, we relocated to Houston to provide my son with a better opportunity for high school. As a survivor of domestic violence and other life challenges, I’ve been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, CPTSD, and severe depression. Despite this, I’ve worked hard to maintain a sense of stability for my son and me.
I receive a small amount through Social Security, which helps, but it’s not enough to cover all our needs. I clean homes in my area to afford necessities like gasoline, but I’m limited in how much I can earn without risking losing my benefits or the medical insurance I need for my medications and mental health care.
I’m hoping to raise enough funds to either repair my current car or purchase a reliable used vehicle. Additional Funds will allow me to:
Get my son to and from school every day.
Continue working to provide for our family.
Maintain some stability in our lives during this difficult time.
Any amount you can contribute will make a difference. Even if you’re unable to donate, sharing this campaign with your network would mean the world to me.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for considering supporting us. I’ve always tried to help others when I could, and now I’m asking for help in return. Together, I believe we can get through this challenge and back on the road.
With gratitude,
Dawn Esparza
