Help Dawn Heal from Cancer

UPDATE 2

Dawn has been moving along in her treatment journey. She recently had a double mastectomy surgery and another shortly after to remove lymph nodes with a lymphatic bypass to prevent lymphedema. She will most likely have to undergo a third surgery soon due to complications she had from the first one. After that, she will begin radiation therapy. In true Dawn fashion, she has been facing each battle with strength and determination despite all the difficulties. She is so grateful of how the community has come together to support her through this process. The holidays are coming, and she still is unable to work and this has been a stress on her. I wanted to update everyone and ask for donations to get her through this year. Every single donation is helpful and appreciated.

UPDATE 1

I wanted to give everyone an update about where Dawn is at with her treatment. Today is her last day of chemotherapy. In addition to her chemo, she has been doing vitamin C fusions, reiki and acupuncture which have been keeping her strong and healthy. Her doctor is pleased with her response to the treatments and her current state of health. She will have surgery soon and then will need to do seven weeks of radiation and another then have another surgery after. She has had some difficult days, but is so grateful for every donation, positive message and prayer. The support is much needed and appreciated as she is unable to work, but still having to support her three girls during this difficult time.

Hi, my name is Jessica and I am starting this campaign for Dawn Lopez, who is currently undergoing chemotherapy for stage 3 breast cancer. I have been friends with Dawn since middle school, and our friendship has grown to the point where I couldn’t do life without her. Anyone who has met her knows how big of a heart she has and goes above and beyond to help others in any way she can. Dawn's life was turned upside down not too long ago when she discovered a lump in her breast that turned out to be a cancerous tumor. She will have a long battle over the next year that includes chemotherapy, radiation, multiple surgeries not covered by insurance and hormone treatment. Along with her medical treatments, she is getting high dose Vitamin C infusions, reiki, acupuncture, counseling and using alternative supplements to stay as healthy as possible through this journey. She will be unable to work during this time and will need to focus her energy on her health. She is raising three daughters and this will be a challenging time for the whole family. Many friends and family have asked how they can support Dawn during this time and I decided to create this GoFundMe for her as she will need to pay for medical bills, holistic treatments, support for her daughters and her everyday expenses. Any amount is helpful and your support and positive thoughts during this difficult time will be greatly appreciated.

In addition to the GoFundMe, Kula Yoga studio is having donation based classes every Sunday and both the Port Orange and New Smyrna Beach studios. All donations go directly to Dawn.
