Help Bella Rose Tattoo rebuild after storm damage
Donation protected
The intense storms of July 1-2 caused extensive flooding throughout Chicago, and our friend Dawn Grace’s beloved Bella Rose Tattoo shop was hit hard.
The roof of the Northwest Side building was severely damaged, causing the ceiling to collapse, flooding her space with brown stormwater and debris.
Dawn has run her business independently for more than a decade and is facing thousands of dollars in costs to rebuild the shop to make it safely habitable again.
In addition to repairs and cleanup, she also will need to replace expensive fixtures and equipment.
Bella Rose Tattoo has been closed and Dawn’s been unable to work since July 2. The shop will be closed for at least three months for repairs, which means that she is facing a total loss of income at a time when small businesses like hers are still recovering from significant financial hits due to the pandemic.
All funds raised will go toward helping Dawn rebuild and reopen her shop, and keep her business and personal expenses paid until she can get back to work.
Dawn is an award-winning tattoo artist with more than 25 years of experience. She has earned a glowing reputation for her expertise with all types of tattooing, including her work with people who have lived through trauma. Her restorative and coverup work is deeply healing for her clients who have scars from mastectomies, self-harm, and injuries.
Bella Rose Tattoo has always been a safe and welcoming space for people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, ethnicities, cultural backgrounds, classes, and abilities. You can find out more about Dawn’s work here: http://dawngrace.net
We understand that times are tight for everyone. If you’re able to assist in reopening Bella Rose Tattoo by making a donation of any amount, Dawn and all of us who love her would greatly appreciate it. Spreading the word really helps, too!
Thank you all so much. <3
