Help Dawn Robbins fight Multiple Myeloma
Donation protected
Recently our beloved teacher Dawn Robbins was diagnosed with multiple myeloma. She has taught at Trinity for 13 years as a teacher aide and is currently teaching K3 with Karen Kuehler. Dawn is such a wonderful person and has had such a positive impact on so many students lives! Unfortunately at this time she does not have medical insurance to help with her expenses. This GoFund me was created so we can show her love and encouragement during this difficult time. Together we can support Dawn in her fight against Multiple Myeloma. Your donations will help with Medications, treatment, transportation and support her and her family during any time away from work. Please feel free to share this link with friends and family. Thanks you in advance for your generosity and support !
*Cancer drug therapies often involve a combination of two or three medications rather than just one. In one study, the total cost of a multi-medication therapy for people with multiple myeloma -- before insurance -- ranged from about $74,000 to as much as $256,000.
From Dawn : I actually found out about my myeloma by going to an ENT Dr. I kept having sinus infections that would not go away. He noticed that it just didn't look right, like a normal sinus infection. Sent me for blood work where it showed I was anemic. After a month of my regular Dr. doing different blood work, she referred me to a hematologist. After more blood work and a bone marrow biops, I was told I had multiple myeloma. That I might possibly need stem cell transplant. Never had heard of it, so of course was scared. After my petscan, showed no lesions or anything, so that was positive. I don't really have any pain or anything, just tire easily.
I should start chemo next week hopefully. I don't have insurance ( yea bad timing) I will have it in July. I'm just waiting on the Drs office to work behind the scenes and get with the pharmacuticul companies to supply the drugs. my faith is strong, and I know God is in control. I'm just trusting in Him.
