Help Dawn's Family Rebuild Their Lives
Donation protected
PLEASE HELP the family in need who is always there to help others! The Bellmore-Merrick community and beyond is blessed by the tireless devotion of Dawn Sambade to anyone and everyone in need. Now it is time for all of us to follow Dawn's example and find a way to help her family.
As many of you are aware, Dawn's husband passed away suddenly April 2023, just months after a house fire forced the family (Dawn, her 4 children and her mother-in-law) into a rental home. As if such tragedies are not enough to face, here we are more than a year later, and there is still no stability for the Sambades.
Incredibly, repairs to their home are still not complete and assistance from insurance expired on May 31, leaving a massive financial burden all on Dawn's shoulders. There was no life insurance. There was no guidance on dealing with the aftermath of the house fire. Amidst unimaginable personal loss, Dawn was left alone to pick up the pieces and find a way forward for her kids.
To make matters worse, Dawn has been misled and mistreated by so many that should have been helping her -- not just because it is the moral thing to do, it was their jobs and one after another they failed to fulfill their duties, costing Dawn thousands along the way, money she could not afford to lose. The journey with getting the Sambades' home repaired has been one nightmare after the other. Meanwhile, Dawn's kids are displaced, left without a father and an uncertain future.
I have known Dawn and her family for more than a decade. All Dawn has ever done is care for others; her work with We the People United Corp (https://wethepeopleunitedcorp.org/) helps local families, veterans and elders every year. At the holidays, Dawn is coordinating trucks and a house bursting with donations for those in need...every year, even when her dad passed away, even when her entire life was shattered and her family was forced out of their home.
Dawn is managing a rental home and a mortgage, supporting a family of five, working full-time plus side jobs trying to make ends meet. Her kids must not endure any more upheaval. The clock is ticking, the bills are unending, and the family needs to get back to their house. None of us can imagine the strain this family is under, but I'm confident all of us want to help ease that burden in any possible way.
Maybe you have donated before or cooked or supported the Sambades in other ways. Their situation is not resolved; their loss is forever. Please consider contributing again to a deserving family who needs the grace and kindness right now to help them get by and make it home.
