Hi Friends!

Unfortunately, I have some sad news to share about my brother and sister-in-law’s company, Destination Baby Co. DBC is a baby gear rental service out of San Diego, CA. My brother and SIL have put their life savings and their blood, sweat and tears into building this company from the ground up. Yesterday, on January 22, 2024, their inventory warehouse was severely damaged as a major storm passed through San Diego. Within minutes, their entire warehouse was flooded with over 3+ feet of water, leaving a large majority of their inventory vulnerable to the flood. Thousands of dollars worth of inventory was damaged from strollers, car seats, cribs, and much more.

Not only does this leave them unable to rent out these items, they’ve now had to put new orders on hold until they can start to build inventory again. Destination Baby Co has a team of 11 individuals from administrative workers, to delivery drivers, to the owners themselves, that rely on this business to provide for their families. My brother and his wife have two small children and this incident will have a major impact on their day-to-day lives.

Unfortunately, their insurance does not cover floods, so they are starting the lengthy process of finding alternatives to building their business back up.
