Help Dean in his battle against COVID-19

On August 31st, 2021, Dean Pautler was diagnosed with COVID-19. The next day his wife, Lisa, was also diagnosed as COVID+. Despite being ill herself, Lisa cared for her husband at home for as long as she could. Unfortunately, on September 5th, Lisa had to rush her husband to the emergency room as he was struggling to breath. There, Dean was diagnosed with COVID pneumonia.

After two weeks, Dean’s condition worsened. Despite being on a high flow nasal oxygen machine, his blood oxygen saturation was dropping quickly. With his wife at his side, Dean made the difficult decision to opt for voluntary sedation and intubation.

Dean remains in the ICU in an induced coma with the ventilator and feeding tube keeping him alive. Understandably, Lisa, who herself is a nurse, has missed quite a bit of work due to her own quarantine period and her husband’s situation. 

While Dean’s insurance does cover part of his medical expenses, the bills continue to add up for the couple, both from the hospitalization and at home. Lisa is doing her best to continue working despite the emotional toll her husband’s uncertain condition has placed on her. We are hoping to raise enough money to help pay for Dean’s medical bills and also allow his wife to take some much needed time off from work to focus on her husband and family.
