Help Debbie Get Housing

Hi, my name is Tori and I’m fundraising for my mom Debbie. My mom has been homeless for nearly 10 years in my hometown of Redding. My mom had been on disability my whole life due to chronic pain caused by a back injury in her childhood, and has struggled with addiction in the past, leading us to lose our home when I was only 13 years old and my brother was 9. After losing her disability and HUD, She re applied for aid multiple times at no avail, and therefore has never been able to regain housing. Once I turned 18, and my brother 14 I took him in full time and began raising him on my own. My dad passed away shortly after, and I sank into deep depression. I then decided to move us (my brother & myself) 7 hours away from my hometown in hopes of being able to start over & provide a better, happier and more stable life for us. Leaving my mom behind was the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but my brother & myself were my main priority. I always dreamed that I would eventually do good enough here financially to be able to get my mom an apartment so she would no longer be on the streets. I worry about her safety every single day. She has gone through Things that no human deserves to go through during her time being homeless. I’m still 100% taking care of my little brother, and of course, he has always come first before my mother. Unfortunately I’m not in a financial space to be able to take care of him and help my mom. I always wanted to be able to do this on my own, but as my mom gets older, my biggest fear is that I will run out of time to help her & get her back on her feet.
