Help Debbie Hamilton Heal After Tragic Accident
Donation protected
Monday morning August 26th, school crossing guard Debbie Hamilton was on her job at Schultze Elementary School in South Irving. While helping to protect children and parents through the intersection at Irving Heights and Shady Grove, Ms. Hamilton was hit and severely injured by a distracted driver who was speeding through the school zone.
Ms. Hamilton was transported to the trauma unit at Parkland Hospital where she was placed into a medically induced coma. She suffered two broken legs, multiple facial fractures, severe head laceration, and three skull fractures which resulted in brain swelling and bleeding from several different areas of the brain. She has been breathing through a ventilator and is scheduled for a tracheotomy.
A single Mom, Ms. Hamilton faces a long and difficult recovery. Rehab could well prove to be a multi-year ordeal and hugely expensive. If you can help defray any of her costs and loss of income during this time it would be so appreciated. Thank you.
