Help Debbie Seymour Conquer Uterine Cancer

Donation protected

“I need to tell you something. I have stage 3 Uterine cancer” isn’t something you ever want to hear come out of your mother’s mouth. We quell our fears of the unthinkable with a “It’s not going to happen to me/someone I love” mentality…and then it does anyway, and you are forced to face those fears head on. My mom, Debbie Marinone Seymour (65, of Windsor Locks, CT) has been recently diagnosed with Uterine Carcinosarcoma or MMMT (malignant mixed Müllerian tumors) which is considered a more rare and aggressive type of cancer.

She is a lover of nature and animals, vibrant colors, flip flops & wind chimes, and would live at the beach by the sea if she could. She is an advocate for health & holistic wellness- her belief is that she can beat this with a non-conventional method of treatment and is not opting for any chemo or radiation, and my father and I support and respect her decision. She has taken the necessary time to research and reflect and make an informed decision. What I am asking as her daughter, is that regardless of what you would do in this situation and whether you are for or against western medicine or holistic healing, that you show your respect & support for her and our family because it is so important to have those positive vibes and energy being sent her way during this time.

This brings me to why I have started this Go Fund Me page. Asking for help and exposing your struggles is a hard thing to do, but I will do anything within my power for my parents. They have been here to support me through all stages of my life. I am being open & honest with all of you now saying that we need help & support. Any donation amount, big or small makes a difference and will be regarded by us as a selfless act of kindness and love and will forever be appreciated.

This treatment plan at Hope4Cancer will cost upwards of $45,000 among other expenses for continued care or methods of treatment, which Medicare insurance will not cover. Sono-Photo Dynamic, Infra-red, Ozone, PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field), Hyperthermia, Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber, UVBI (Ultra-Violet Biological Irradiation) therapies, & Vitamin C & B-17 infusions, among other supportive therapies and treatments are involved. There is obviously an urgency to making all the steps happen to get her to the Hope4Cancer clinic which also involves traveling, and a 3 week leave of absence from the job I recently started as well.

My Dad, Jim Seymour will be using his retirement money to pay for this. He has only recently retired last year from a long, strenuous career at UPS. He was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 2004 when I was in 7th grade. He has since continued to work, day in and day out for his full pension, having 2 knee replacements due to the nature of his job, and DBS (Deep Brain Stimulation) surgery for his Parkinson’s. My mom has always been at the forefront of managing his illness alongside him. My parents met out of high school, love at first sight, and have been married for 44 years this month navigating the peaks and valleys of marriage. Since the very beginning my dad has made it his purpose to selflessly provide for us. He is hands down the hardest working man I know and deserves to enjoy his retirement with his family and his dog, not worry about money and his wife’s well-being. On our maternal side, we come from a line of strong Marinone women. Cancer has been prevalent in our immediate family with 2 sisters having battles with Ovarian and Pancreatic cancer. It is my mom’s hope that she can share this journey, educate others and make a difference in someone’s life who may be finding themselves in a similar situation.

I also want to mention my wedding is coming up this September and in light of these recent events I will ask that in lieu of any wedding gifts/donations from my friends & family that you donate to this Go Fund Me cause instead. Having both my parents there on my wedding day is the most important gift I could ever receive.
