Help Deborah Defeat Cancer!

In the blink of an eye, without any notice, our lives were turned upside down. In early November, our loving mom, and wife, Deborah, went in for a routine doctor’s visit to get some relief for pain that she was experiencing in the area of her left rib. She was given Motrin and sent home… but unfortunately it did not provide her with any relief. She returned to the doctor, and an X-Ray revealed that there was a spot on her right lung. None of us could have been prepared for the news we would receive next. A CT scan on November 26th, revealed that Deborah, in fact, had Stage 4 lung cancer.

This is definitely not the news we were expecting to receive nonetheless, we realize that we still have so much to be thankful for and will do everything in our power to make sure that she gets the care that she needs. The DREADFUL cancer has now metastasized to her bones and her left rib. However, she is prepared to FIGHT for her life!
She was referred to an oncologist, who wanted to get started with Chemotherapy, radiation, Immunotherapy, and Keytruda right away. As with anything, however, we all wanted to get a second opinion.

After doing some research, we decided we wanted to explore one of the Cancer Treatment Centers of America that is located in Atlanta, GA. The 17th, Of December 2018 marks the beginning of a long journey, as we prepare to fight this thing with all of our might.

For those of you who may not know, Deborah and Gary Brent now reside in Charlotte, NC. Traveling back and forth to Atlanta will be overwhelming, and costly to say the least. It is our hope, that you, our loving family and friends will be kind enough to make a donation to help defray some of the costs associated with travel and lodging while “Mommy” gets the treatment and care that she needs.
