Help Debra Jane fight cancer

Last fall our dear friend Debra Jane Blood was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. By the time she was finally diagnosed, she had lost her ability to walk or move her legs without help. She underwent weeks of therapy and treatment. She didn’t give up, and she found the strength to overcome many obstacles and walk unaided.

       This is just the beginning of her story. Last month, after a visit to the ER for pain and breathlessness, she was diagnosed with stomach and liver cancer. The cancer in her liver is an especially aggressive type. Her MS diagnosis adds even more complexity to how doctors will battle this disease.  She will need extensive chemotherapy and possibly radiation.

     Because of the treatment required to battle this cancer, Debra will be unable to work. She has been furloughed from her job of almost twenty years.   

     Debra has always been the first person to jump in and help when someone needs aid. She’s started prayer chains, and gathered support for friends in various ways. She has also started and supported Go Fund Me accounts to help loved ones who needed it. She cares deeply, and those of us blessed to be loved by her have never had to question her love for us. It comes through in so many ways. Now it’s our turn to show her the love.

     Chris and I have known Debra most of our lives. But that just isn’t long enough. We want to help her fight this disease in any way we can. We want to help lift the financial burden we know she will face. She is the strongest woman we know, but we want her to be able focus all that strength on kicking cancer’s ass. Please help us help her as she begins the fight of her life.
