Help Debra Start a Community Garden

As a result of the pandemic, the food business among others has taken a big hit.  Many
restaurants have either closed or have limited services. Take out meals are the new norm for
some but not an option for everyone.

I’ve decided to focus my efforts on starting a Community Garden in Freeville, NY where I have over an acre of land for growing fruits and vegetables.  I want everyone  to have access to
healthy food and why not grow your own food and have help doing it while saving money.

As we begin the long process of healing in 2021, having food security is vital to our existence. I am raising money for building the soil, constructing raised beds and garden tools, etc. I want to offer Community Gardening on the land so that others can grow nourishing food at a  time
when families really need it.  We must act as good  stewards of our precious soil, water, and
open  space even in the midst of cities.

I will be offering educational classes on alternative gardening practices, cooking lessons,
weekly potluck meals and food preservation.  The Community Garden will be a joint effort to
create a green space where all the people involved  share part of the upkeep and garden
rewards and build relationships.
