Help Dee beat lung cancer

Hi, my name is Jenny, Melina's best friend. Dee has accepted me as her own from the moment I met her. She has always been great with kids, and myself as a 12 year old girl with not the best home life, took a liking to her right away. Melina soon became my best friend and we are going on 18 years of friendship. Dee became my second mom, taking me in when I needed a safe place to sleep to get away from my dad and home life, and cooked me food to eat (mostly chicken and cashews when I figured out mushrooms were actually delicious). I was invited for summers at the shore house in LBI, and many friday night pizza nights full of family, pizza, ice cream, and love. Many after school days and summers were spent at her home which she welcomed me into with open arms. I am forever grateful for all the fun and happiness she gave to me, at such a hard time in my life, so in return and out of love I am trying my absolute best to give back what I can. Dee has been recently diagnosed with Stage IV lung cancer. Today 8/26, she had a procedure to place a port for chemotherapy. This is to raise money to help with her medical expenses, as most of you know, cancer treatment is very costly, and Dee cannot continue to work while receiving treatment. This money will go to her and her loving husband, Don for medical bills, food, utilities, and any other things they may need help with paying while she is out of work and focusing on her health to beat this. Dee is the type of person to give you the shirt off her back, and has always been there for me. I have set the goal for $20,000 to make this challenging time in her life as easy as possible as she transitions into a new way of living life, and fighting every step of the way.
