Help defray healthcare expenses for Dr Dube
Donation protected
Hello friends,
I am fundraising to help my former Greek and Old Testament professor (He used to say: if you know you know, if you don’t know you don’t know, I’ll give you a ZERO ) to defray some of his healthcare expenses. Anything you have will go a long way! He is being treated in South Africa but resides in Zambia where he hopes to discharge back to shortly. Your prayers are solicited for healing. Here is the appeal from his daughter:
Obed Dube is his official name, however, I call him dad. Others call him Prof, Zero or pastor. A teacher, counselor, comedian, father, fighter and more. He has always been the fighter I look up to.
We've been through storms in the last years after he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease; but nothing could have equipped us for what has been happening the last few weeks.
My dad was admitted with sepsis, prostatitis and broken ribs 2 weeks ago, and has been battling recovery since.
Prior to admission, his health suddenly deteriorated during our wait to see a specialist for treatment for his Parkinson's disease (reprogramming for Deep Brain Stimulation: a new technology that aids parkinsons patients) not in our country of residence which meant medical care treatment on a cash basis only.
We have been blessed to have some family, friends, strangers and former employers, kindly donate towards his hospital bill and treatment, which has been overly helpful.
However, there is only so much we can ask for from the same circle.
Dad may be cleared of the sepsis soon, however, he will still need further care and treatment with a urologist, physiotherapist and occupational therapist; to regain his mobility, cognition and independence in more ways than one.
We need assistance in coming up with funds to be able to get dad this care and treatment as well as upkeep away from home.
We are hoping an amount of US$6000 could help us take care of all this, till we are given a clear pass from the doctors to travel back home.
