Help Delainey get a Specialized Medical Treatment

Donation protected
Dearest Friends and Family,

As many of you know or are aware, Delainey was diagnosed in 2019 with anxiety, Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), Disruptive Mood Dysregulation (DMDD), and Attention-Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and is currently on a waitlist to be evaluated for autism.

She has been in regular therapy several times a week since her diagnosis. We are establishing care through a new Occupational Therapy (OT) center and during her recent assessment the therapist noticed that she was showing signs of gaps of crossing her midline. The therapist referred us to a Vision Therapy Center to have that evaluated by a specialist.

Snider Therapy Center (STC) did a Neuro-Visual assessment and found that she has Accommodative Insufficiency and Spasm, Constrictive Functional Visual Fields, Convergence Insufficiency, Developmental Age is 6 years old, Developmental Visual Information Deficits, Disorganized Auditory System, Myopic Astigmatism, Ocular Motor Dysfunction, Refractive Amblyopia (Right eye), and Suspected Sensory Integration Dysfunction. These could be the underlying cause of the other symptoms in her original diagnosis’s; defective sensory skills have been shown to handicap performance (i.e. academic, athletic, behavioral). STC provides a three-phase sensory program that basically reprograms her brain by simultaneously engaging the visual, auditory, and vestibular systems to work in an integrated way.

The first phase (beginning Dec 6, 2021), Sensory Learning Program is completed in office over 12 consecutive days (no days off) consisting of two 30-minute sessions each day. These sessions are customized integrated sensory programs; simultaneously retraining interconnected portions of the brain involving visual, auditory and balance.

The second phase is Vision Therapy – to improve the visual efficiency and visual processing deficits over approximately 56 visits.

The third phase is Sound Therapy - to stimulate the nerve pathways in the brain dealing with language to enhance concentration, listening, and understanding of language.

We are excited for this therapy; however, it is not covered by insurance and is completely out of pocket. The upfront cost for this three-phase therapy plan is $15,000.

We are asking for any financial assistance that you can help with through donation. Delainey is worth every cent that you are able to provide towards this treatment and we would be eternally grateful!
